Video Clips - The Practice

In 2000, Lane Davies played Kyle Barrett in a recurring role. Kyle's
brother-in-law, Scott Wallace (Bruce Davidson) is on trial for the
murder of his wife, Kyle's sister. The prosecution's case is weak and
Kyle is informed that his testimony may be the only thing they have
that will convict the defendant. Working for the prosecution are A.D.A.
Helen Gamble (Lara Flynn Boyle) and A.D.A Richard Bay (Jason
Kravits). Working for the defense are Bobby Donnell (Dylan
McDermott) and Eugene Young (Steve Harris).

Stage Back West Reported in August 2001,

The key is that theatre training and credits are prized by  McConnell
and Gilmore [casting directors for The Practice]. "We seek that out,"
said McConnell. "We find that actors with strong theatre resumes are
easier to direct, they make adjustments easily."

"The main thing with our show is that everybody who's not a criminal
has to have a lot of weight, a lot of authority. We need people who can
really hold their own, who can stand up to [cast regulars] Steve Harris
and Dylan McDermott."

That may explain last season's diverse and stage heavy roll call, which
included Rene Auberjonis, Bruce Davidson, Timothy Carhart, Diane
Venora, Lane Davies, Tim Lounibos, Bernard White, Dayton Callie,
Christopher Evan Welch, Peter Michael Goetz, Donald Sage Mackay,
John Aylward, CCH Pounder, and Kate Mulligan.
