Give My Regards To Brandon
Video Clip: Give My Regards To Brandon
Mason: So, you found a pilot?
C.C.: Oh, yes. Yes, I did.
Mason: Overnight bag. I didn't realize your business was going to keep you away so long. Come to think of it,
you've been spending a lot of time away from the house lately.
C.C.: Well, you know how it is.
Mason: No, I don’t. I usually only have one woman at a time.
C.C.: I really have to go, Mason.
Mason: See, there’s Santana, of course, only fitting she should count on our list. Gina Demott, suddenly single
and very available, not to mention beautiful. Who else, dad? Did I leave anybody out?
C.C.: Gina Demott is a friend of mine.
Mason: Yes, all good romances start as friendships, or so I’m told. Then there’s her little boy. You've always
taken a very active interest in him.
C.C.: Gina’s husband was one of my dearest friends.
Mason: Is that the only reason why you've been so nice to her son?
C.C.: Are you insinuating something?
Mason: Oh, I’m just remembering all those Christmas presents to little Brandon. Trips to L.A. for his birthday. The
other day when he turned up missing, you were terribly upset.
C.C.: Well there are some compassionate people in this world, Mason. Although I wouldn't expect you to
understand that.
Mason: Brandon Demott is adopted. I know that.
C.C.: I’m not denying it.
Mason: That’s not the strange part.
C.C.: Oh, there’s a strange part?
Mason: Something I remembered just this morning, that adoption was arranged quickly, very quickly, not the
usual way that it’s customary in such cases. It’s almost as if the arrangements had been made privately.
C.C.: I fail to see your point.
Mason: Well the point is I’m shocked, dad. My father is not the pillar of the community I thought he was.
C.C.: Well, I’m awfully sorry if I’d disappointed you.
Mason: Disappointed me? No, no, on the contrary, I’m elated. Here, all this time I thought you were perfect. It
turns out you’re as human as the rest of us. I couldn't be more relieved.
C.C.: I have to catch a plane, Mason.
Mason: You gave the Demotts that child, didn't you?
C.C.: If I did, it’s none of your business.
Mason: I know that. Which is why I’m not going to investigate further.
C.C.: No, just torment me.
Mason: We’re all accountable for our actions, dad. It just disturbs me deeply to see my father chasing after a five-
year old boy, as if he was his own.
C.C.: Goodbye, Mason.
Mason: Give my regards to Brandon.
