Joe On The Run Part 1
Characters: Mason and Peter
Setting: At the Capwell mansion
Mason: (On the phone) You came upon this information?
Peter: Yes. Joe was just here. He made a call. Look, he’s headed for the La Mesa restaurant.
Mason: Joe in your apartment…that’s an interesting coincidence.
Peter: Hey, look I heard you were looking for him, Mason. It was on the radio.
Mason: You’re sure he’s armed?
Peter: Yeah! I saw the gun.
Mason: Well, what about Kelly? Was she with him? (Long pause) I can hear you breathing, Peter,
you must still be there.
Peter: Yeah, I think she’s with him. She may be at the La Mesa too. They were arranging to meet
there.
Mason: Thank you, Peter. You’ve been a tremendous help. (Hangs up).
Peter: Mason! Wait a second!
Mason: (Makes another phone call) Yeah, this is Mason Capwell. Joe Perkins’ just been sighted at
the La Mesa restaurant. I want plain clothes officers dispatched to the scene. Yeah, that’s right. No
uniforms. And no gun play! My sister maybe there and I don’t want anyone getting hurt. Especially
Perkins. Perkins I want alive.
