The Only Answer For Everything Is, Yes
Video Clip: The Only Answer For Everything Is, Yes
Character: Mason and Veronica

Setting: Next Scene In a living room at the Capwell mansion

Veronica:
(Veronica sitting on the couch as Mason pours more Champaign). Don't you think
you've had enough? I'm fine thank you.

Mason:(Looking unsteady and slurring his words). You certainly are. (Sits next to her on couch)
Listen, why don't we, um, slip out of this living room and into someplace more comfortable, like my
bedroom for example? Fit for a king and his concubine.

Veronica: Mason, I'm already impressed.

Mason: Good. I hope you'll be even more impressed.

Veronica: Actually, I think I ought to be going. Tomorrow's a long day, and 7 AM comes very early.

Mason: No, no, you can call in sick. I'll deal with Peter. Nobody's going anywhere. We have an
entire evening planned and the game is not over yet. It wouldn't be cricket for you to leave now. You
won't be sorry you stayed. I promise.

Veronica: Mason, I like you very much, but I really don't think I should be mixing business with
pleasure. I don't want to be accused of being a climber.

Mason: Oh, I'm talking about climbing the heights together, but of pleasure not business.

Veronica: I'm afraid of heights.

Mason: Then hang on to me.

Veronica: (Shakes her head and laughs softly) That's all very heady, but I'm afraid I'm not worthy.

Mason: Oh, come with me, then. I'll make you worthy.

Veronica: You have an answer for everything.

Mason: The only answer for everything is, yes.

Veronica: You're very persuasive, but I think if I'm going to stay I should call my roommate and let
her know I'm going to be late.

Mason: Fine, do it.

(Veronica picks up the phone and calls Lionel's house pretending that she's talking to her
roommate
).

Veronica: Hi, it's Veronica.

Lionel: (Lionel tries to be discreet also because Augusta is in the room with him and she doesn't
know about Veronica
.) Well, hello. How are you?

Veronica: Well, I'm still at the Capwells with Mason, and he wants me to stay. He won't take no for
an answer. (
Whispers so that Mason won't hear) and I think I'm going to lose my job.

Lionel: Well, well, I think you'd better get out of there right now. I'll come over for you if you'd like.

Veronica: No, no, (Whispers again) then I'd get fired for sure.

Lionel: Well, then you do whatever you think is best.

Mason: (Approaches Veronica) Come on, it's time to say goodbye.

Veronica: I really have to go now.

Lionel: Um, the way to cool off Mason Capwell-

Augusta: (Standing behind Lionel looking puzzled) Mason Capwell?

Lionel: is to mention my name. That's all it will take.

Veronica: Okay, I'll do that. Bye. (Hangs up and turns to Mason) I'm sorry.

Mason: That's all right. While I was waiting I made a bet with myself. (He slides his hands over the
sides of her hips
) The bad guy won.

Veronica: What bet was that?

Mason: I had money on it that you're not wearing any underwear. (They kiss on the mouth).
