Time: Soon after C.C., Mason, and Peter returned from the party

Setting: At the Capwell mansion.

Characters: Mason, C.C., Peter, and a Policeman.

Premise: The crisis C.C. had spoken of at the yacht party is that someone had broken into Channing's room.

Policeman: I'm sorry Mr. Capwell, we can't come up with anything?

C.C.: I don't get it. Somebody outsmarted my security alarm system, got into my house and broke into Channing's room, and you're telling me you can't find anything?

Mason: You dusted for prints?

Policeman: Yes, we went over the whole place with a fine tooth comb.

Peter: Then you must have missed something.

Policeman: We could go through everything again.

C.C.: Mason, you said that our system was foolproof.

Mason: State of the art.

C.C.: Obviously not! Some two-bit burglar jimmies a few wires and disconnects it.

Peter: There's got to be something better, Mason.

C.C.: (To Mason) I thought I made it clear that I wanted Channing's room impenetrable.

Mason: Well, there aren't any guarantees, dad. No security system is totally foolproof.

C.C.: Well find one that is!
